wow..has CC become the new facebook?

Alas somemom, I am tapped out but I’ll zap you when my powers are restored.

Well, his post was a "Bah! Humbug! if I ever heard one – naysaying the giving between the others which surround him here. Where’s that Christmas cheer?

Oh, wait, here it is: “Give me an S. S. Give me a C. C. Give me an R. R. Give me two O’s. OO. Give me a G. G. Give me an E. E. What have we got? S-C-R-O-O-G-E!!!”

;)

Thank you for the points from my fellow book lover! Alas you did not sign your name so I am not sure who you are. I can tell you have been on CC many years with many posts. You maybe started about the time of Old Fort. And yes, read all those books…also loved The Borrower’s, Charlotte’s Web and the Little House series. One summer, I checked out and read with my daughter almost all the Caldecott winners. Now, will you reveal yourself…

Will “chance me, I’ll chance you back” posts soon be outnumbered by “rep me, I’ll rep you back posts”?

Lorem, it looks like you have 25 points to bequeath, thank you

well, I rep’d you back, so we will see. This is pretty fun but silly…

Sincere thanks to all of you. Just yesterday I was a mere nobody…Now anything is possible, even an aura. Dreams do come true!

OK, I want to play. I feel so left out having only one star! Spreading the love to those I can.

VAmom, you will likely have to wait 24 hours to see people give back, as I think they are all maxed out. Be sure to include your name so the favor can be returned.

VA, sadly I’ve reached my limit for the evening, but you’re first on my list for tomorrow.

Only 11 more points to get out of the bipolar feeling of blueiguana is nice…but spreads loving all over these parts near and far. I mean really, is this a healthy self image? The ‘nice’ label should have been at 10 points, no offense to 10 pointers, but you still get to date your close friends for a day.

Oh, make sure to leave your name, a couple of people didn’t and I can’t thank you personally.

VAMom2015 - You know I adore you, but we already had a date and…geez Overloards. I’m wondering if these LGSs will ever start to multiply on their own…there has been quite a bit of love shared. ;)

I spread some love, but some I gave rep to the other day I still can’t help out again. I’ll see you all either late tomorrow or the next morning! (I had a funeral to attend today, so I needed some lighthearted fun tonight!) Thanks for the smiles–I needed them!

I am sorry to hear that, on a really sincere no goofing around note. Glad this insanely silly take on such a stupid addition to cc was able to take your mind off a difficult day. (((hugs)))

I’d like to try a quick experiment (and shameless ■■■■■■■■ for rep points).

Which will garner more points, a helpful, thoughtful post like my post #5 in this thread

or a smart a$$ post like #5 in this thread

Please check them out and give rep to your favorite.

Edit: the rep is already coming in. Please leave your screen name and I’ll try to rep you back.

Well, now that’s a clever approach we haven’t seen before – you might well start a trend here!

I’m waiting for a recharge, but I’ll comment while I wait for my voting privileges to be restored. The first is very, very useful for the individual who posted the question. The second is a lot more entertaining for the vast majority of readers. Both have their place – sometimes the tone on CC becomes a little too serious and it’s important to introduce levity into a situation that has lots of people stressed out. An opportunity to laugh when you’re anxious can turn your whole day around.

Pointwise, the latter will surely win, but, as I have pointed out before, this point-gathering is a one-time process that has a finite cap of 2000 points and will become largely irrelevant for most of us by the time the new year gets well underway. Senior posters should have been “grandfathered in” for their previous efforts by the system, but since it didn’t happen we’ll just all have to do it manually!

Thanks BI! I repped you either yesterday or day before, but I couldn’t help you out today–I must spread the love around. I need to figure out the details of this little game.

How do you know how many points you receive? I can see my total points and who has given me rep in the control panel, and I can click on my own scale to see who repped a specific post, but I’m not seeing points (or maybe I’m just tired and don’t remember seeing them!)

Wow, you folks are really moving and growing those squares! I was up really late last night, it still won’t let me add to anyone’s points, but thanks to everyone who got me to square #2!

As best as I can figure, you can only tell by knowing how many points you had before the last click-through and then figuring out the difference between the old total and the new one. If you check in and see a couple of new click-throughs, you’ll only be able to figure out the total between all the new additions. This is one factor that makes it tough to accurately track individual people’s point values.

Thanks LI! Evidently I will be famous soon enough. If I’m reading the info correctly, if I get 12 more points I should become something new and exciting–perhaps I’ll gain an aura?

Some of my points have recharged and I’m giving out again! (I’ll take paybacks - hint, hint)

Glad to see lots of more players to this silly, wonderfully fun game :)
