Both schools are very different but have some similarities. I’ve been accepted to both but need to make my decision within the next week. Is the gender ratio at WPI noticible? And if so, is it an issue? And at Virginia Tech, is it easy to find a group of friends to hang around with on a daily basis, or is it difficult considering the size of the school?
Hey what did you decide? I know it’s after may 1st, but my DD got into both and those were her last two choices. She chose Tech. I think you can’t go wrong. WPI is 45 minutes outside of Boston, which is cool. I think for her it was 1) weather, 2) scale and 3) VTech really seems to live the “This is Home” thing…we went down for second visit after admit, but couldn’t do the official accepted student day, and everybody I reached out to was like, “yes, come, when are you available to stop by?” The labs gave tours, student lab tour people gave their personal email addresses, everyone was so crazy nice. We are from the North East, so it was like culture shock in a good way. They’re giving Disney a run for their money on the happiest place on earth in Blacksburg…
oh, and we did last fall go to a football game. Game Day is crazy, in control and fine, but wow.
