Still waiting here.
Hello,
My daughter is still hoping to get off the wait-list.
As international students, with financial aid need, Is it realistic to hope?
financial needs can be met if admission ?
Thank you
WPI does not meet financial need. I have a son who is a freshman there and there are many domestic students who had financial aid packages that asked them to pay more than their federal need profile indicated. I think the lowest amount I saw any family was expected to pay was around $25K. On the other hand, almost everyone gets a decent merit scholarship, bringing the cost to the mid $50Ks for people paying on the higher end.
The bottom line is if you need to pay less than $30,000 a year, they are unlikely to meet your need. (I am not saying it is impossible, but it seems extremely rare.)
Congratulations for your son, I hope he is enjoying being at WPI and thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question.
Last week, I contacted the admission’s office to give new updates about my daughter’s scholarships (a supplemental scholarship that my daughter just received and not mentionned on her CSS profile). I was just told to wait with no mention of financial need.
As you said so well, it is very difficult and even more so for a waiting list. As our financial capacity is limited, I hope to have as much help as possible.
It seems that WPI started accepting from the WL. My daughter is still waiting.
Do we have information how many students have been offered a place on the waiting list?
Any one got off the waitlist in the last 1 week? The fact we haven’t heard anything so far makes me nervous since May 1st is deposit deadline
Did you get any update?
No update here. My D24 is still waiting.
I heard someone get off the waitlist 10 days ago on Reddit.
Clarification:
You may not hear back from WPI until June or later.
The assumption should be that you’re not getting off the WPI WaitList. Other students may be accepted, due to whatever institutional drivers, but you may not.
But if you do get off the WPI Waitlist, then you can decide to attend WPI, and notify the other college that you committed to you.
I reach out the admission office 2 weeks ago and they told me they are trying to do their best as soon as possible to make it possible for students to do balanced choice.
I hope we will hear from them soon after May first.
My Daughter (International student) got off the waitlist. She received an email april 30, and enrolled may 1st.
She is awarded presidential merit scholarship.
Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Congratulations! we are still waiting
