<p>Is it possible that when one of us is at an event and someone comes up to us raving at our dress/pants/hosiery/etc. and says, “you look fabulous! Where did you get that outfit?!” that our answer will be “Oh, it was conceived on CC!” :slight_smile: </p>

<p>Thanks for this thread. It reminds me I have a wedding to attend for my niece in Aug–2015. Maybe D & I can shop for both of us when she’s in town for the holidays. I also prefer faux wrap to real wrap dresses. For some reason, I find that many have high waistlines that I don’t like and find unflattering.</p>

<p>CF…I have two RL faux wrap dresses…both blue…one sleeveless, and one 3/4. I love them. Both came from Marshall’s or TJs.</p>

<p>Lots of good suggestions. Like the Karen Kane dresses posted by oldfort. That brand makes a lot of their clothes in the US, and they are usually great quality (they can run big). </p>

<p>^^^That’s a lovely blue dress and should look good for many body types. This is a dangerous thread–made me start looking for a dress for niece’s wedding and they are having a sale at Macy’s with free shipping. ;)</p>

<p>I recently picked up a very pretty Lauren wrap dress similar to the simple black one linked above. The one I bought has a wide white trim draped in the front and along the hemline. I find that the wraps hide a multitude of sins, especially if they are black.
I also just ordered this from Land’s end. It’s not a wrap but it looks like it’s flattering and the reviews are excellent. It does have 3/4 sleeves but I ordered it in a regular length because I think a little added length will make it a bit dressier. My 35th high school reunion is coming up so I have a couple of options.</p>

<p>EPTR - That’s a nice dress in your Lands End link. The neckline is nice. I am a pear and worry that I some of the wrap styles would be to loose/gappy on top. </p>

I am not a pear shape but rather petite (including my top!). With a a true wrap dress you can usually adjust how tight you wrap it to make it fit. </p>

<p>Dress hunters, Blooomies just discounted a bunch of DVF and other fine dresses, and with additional F&F 20% discount, the buys could be pretty good! I just scored the piece I wanted to buy for a long time! </p>

<p>I won’t buy DVF. She announced she didn’t want my particular kind of women shopping at her stores so I certainly will abide by that and make sure to not give her a penny.</p>
