WRITERS BLOCK..deadline!!

I spent a considerable amount of time on supplemental essays. They’re great but now I have no Common App essay, just a list of ideas and a billion rough drafts. I cant think of anything!
The deadline is so close :-S
What do I do, mix up a couple of ideas?

Write an outline for each of the essay prompts. Nothing fancy, no more than 100 words.
Then hand these outlines to someone other than your parents/teachers/friends and ask “which do you find most interesting/what would make you want to learn more about me”?

Do not mix ideas. Your final essay will be incoherent and disjointed.
Sometimes the best way is just to power through it and write three essays from start to finish and then decide which one you like best to use for the common app.

Hope this helps.

Take those billions of rough drafts, choose the best of them, and spend today making it into something that will get you admitted to college.

I like you more and more, @bjkmom. Yes, spending an entire day editing an essay until it’s “perfect” will drive you crazy. It’s an endless rabbit hole that has consumed many a soul.
