Writing 39a

I did not pass the ACWPE exam, so I have to take the introductory class =/
I was actually advised to take writing 39a during the summer at irvine, but i didn’t do so.
Would this hurt my schedule? B/c i read somewhere that 39a classes are only offered
during the winter quarter or perhaps, the summer? not sure

note: i haven’t attended spop yet, nor have i taken a calc test.

also, if i do not pass the calc exam, i may be placed at math 1a. is this offered during the fall quarter?

i would do research myself for the schedule of these classes, but i can’t seem to find the answer.

thanks guys

It should be offered in the fall so that you can take B in the winter and C in the spring. Math 1A is offered in the fall only.

where can you find the schedule of classes? like which quarter the classes are offered?

UCI catalogue for which quarters classes are usually available, or [Schedule of Classes](http://websoc.reg.uci.edu/) for current and past classes.

My friend is taking writing 39a in the fall, so don’t worry.

also for the math…
if i don’t pass the calc placement exam, do i have to take math 1a?
or is there a calc exam that i can take during the break so i can just move up to
math 2a during the winter quarter if i pass the test?

The site where you signed up for the placement exam should tell you if there are any other dates.
If you don’t pass the calc exam, then yes math 1a or whichever the precalc class is. Math isn’t something you have to take first quarter though, so check the site if there are any calc exams you can take during fall.

i had to take writing 39a my freshmen year. they get filled really fast (considering it’s only about 23 people per class). so i had to take it second quarter. took 39b spring quarter. now it’s my second year and i can’t take 39c this fall quarter because they’re full. geez.
