<p>I attended a somewhat-selective engineering camp at ND over the summer and plan on using that as my essay topic. Would colleges that aren’t ND be put off by that?</p>
<p>I’d be able to focus on the diversity of the students there, the things learned, the leadership role I took on during the a team competition that we won, and all the challenged that come along with everything.</p>
<p>I think you’ll be ok if you just stick to the engineering and other aspects. Basically, anything other than “Oh boy, ND was great! I’d love to go there!”.</p>

<p>Sounds like it would work better for a “Why Us?” answer aimed at ND. Remember, “show, not tell,” for the personal statement.</p>
<p>I have much better answers for ND’s supplement questions. But you are correct with the show not tell stuff.</p>
