<p>I noticed that on collegeboard.com, for some colleges it says SAT or ACT writing component will be used: For Admission.</p>
<p>Does this mean the numerical score could actually put one at a disadvantage?</p>
<p>As long as you don’t get like a 5 on the essay, you are ok. Colleges understand that 25 minutes in a high-pressure environment are not the best measure of how well you can write. That is while they use their own essays in the admissions process.</p>
