<p>Now I think I understand…You are correct, you can take 1510 but that is to complete your first writing requirement, not via any exemption. It is an alternative to taking 1505/1506 which is a two semester course sequence for students who scored 480 or below on the SAT writing. You don’t get credit for these classes, you simply don’t take them. You can take 1510 to fulfill the requirement.</p>

I. Fulfilling the FWR via course work. There are three paths to completing the FWR via courses:</p>

<p>C. By successfully completing Accelerated Introduction to Academic Argument (ENWR 1510). You may take ENWR 1510 if you scored 490-710 on the writing portion of the SAT. Students in this path should register for ENWR 1510 for fall if the first letter of their last name is A through K. Students should also register for fall ENWR 1510 if they play on a varsity team that travels primarily in the spring OR if they are transfer students OR if they are repeating the course. Otherwise, students with last names beginning with L-Z should register for spring ENWR 1510.
