writing for national Geographic

Suppose I wanted really really badly to write for the National Geographic. I know I’d probably have to major in Journalism…but there are probably more classes/programs I’d have to take. Science, probably, biology, anthropology, maybe. I really don’t know. Basically I’m looking for a college that might point me in the right direction to the National Geographic. Any suggestions?

There are a relatively small number of colleges that offer geography as a major. One of my friends is going to dartmouth especially because they are one of the few who have it. I would recommend looking into their program if Natll Geo is something you have your heart set on. I interned there this past semester and it was an amazing experience; I highly recommend it.

Since there are so few schools that offer a geography major, anthropology, journalism, history, etc. would all be great alternatives. There is such a wide range of programs and departments within the organization that you can major in a variety of different fields and not be at any disadvantage.

Some other schools with a geo major besides dartmouth: boston university, colgate, elon, george washington, johns hopkins, middlebury, vassar
