writing on the sat

<p>does cornell look at one’s writing score on the sat? what if i’m applying to A&S and i present myself as a very strong writer based on ECs and classes?</p>

<p>I can’t speak for CAS…but I know that CALS doesn’t look at the SAT writing score.</p>

<p>They’re still “studying” it’s predictive abilities…</p>

<p>From what I got… most of my colleges say they use it as a gauge for your college essays. If you go from kindergartner on your SAT to Hemingway on your essay… they will know something is up. However, if you’ve done well in English Class and with English related ECs they will assume you’re just not a great test taker.</p>

<p>But…CALS doesn’t even read the SAT essay…not sure about Cornell’s other colleges.</p>
