please writing experts answer me this question:

The Reporter for that metropolitan paper, as well as many other representatives of the media, ( has been pressured to identify ) confidential sources.

A. As it is
B. have been pressured to identify

I agree, if those are choices on a test. If you’re actually writing, though, avoid this construction because it creates confusion and makes both “has” and “have” seem somehow wrong.

As well as, in addition to, and all similar expressions IF put between commas mean that they are not part of the subject. However, the verb would take on a plural form if the subject was as following: “The Reporter for that metropolitan paper as well as many other representatives of the media have been pressured to identify confidential sources.”
