writing question

is it inspired from?
or inspired by?
the answer says inspired from is wrong…
help?

i think its inspired by

Inspired is the passive form of the verb ‘‘to inspire’’ So ,when you have the passive form of a verb,in order to accentuate the noun of the sentance, you should use ‘‘by’’
For example :
The cat ate the meat ==> the meat was eaten BY the cat
My father inspired me to follow his example ==> I was inspired my father to follow his example
Understand ?

I think that your difficulty may arise from the noun “inspiration” as in “I got inspiration from his work habits.” versus the verb “to inspire” as in “I was inspired by his heroic deeds.” Just a noun vs. verb situation.
