So the writing section continues to bring my score down…if I did better in writing I would have a 2100+. It’s mostly the ‘locating sentence errors’ and the first part that kills me.

Any ideas? I need to go up 100 points! I NEED A GOOD SCORE :'(

I recommend Barron’s writing workbook for the multiple choice section. Reread it several times. The tips are good, and the practice questions aren’t half bad either. The thread “How to write a 12 essay in just 10 days” is very good for the essay.

If you are doing BB tests, look up what sort of errors you are making. Then use Erica Meltzer’s Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar to work on whichever topic you keep missing.

In my opinion, writing is the by far the easiest section to raise your score in. The thing with the Writing section, and other sections of the SAT, is that its a part of a Standardized test. Consequently, the questions that appear are repetitive. so if you do enough practice tests then you should be able to spot the errors immediately. I mean think about it, if a new type of error is introduced on the SAT then groups of persons would protest the inequity of the exam, so to avoid any potential uprisings, CB has to recycle the the error types.

The only thing that may get people who practice a lot are diction errors and idiom errors. I recommend you check out:
