writing seminars

<p>I am interested in JHU’s Writing Seminars, and was hoping to get a current major’s perspective. I am most definitely a “humanities person” - at a school without a writing major, I plan to major in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. I have absolutely no interest in math or sciences, and hope to take as few of those classes as possible in college. I’d rather take psychology, art classes, languages, etc.
So, my question is: how do students in the Writing Seminars feel the vibe differs from the typical JHU pre-med, competitive overachiever stereotype? Do those students form their own groups of friends, or do they mingle with the rest of the undergraduates? Is there the same level of competition, or is it more of a liberal arts environment?</p>
