I just got my score report and found out that I made only three mistakes on the writing and got 71 on MC (which translates to a 710 if the essay isn’t taken into account). Oddly enough, I made five mistakes on CR and got 730. What’s up with that?

The score you get that is between 200 and 800 depends not just on what you scored but what you scored in comparison to everybody else and what everybody else does varies per section. Five CR errors may give you a 730 while four math errors may get you a 720 on math section, and three writing errors may get you 710. Each section has different spreads among all test-takers.
