Wrong Word Used in Common Application Essay

Back when I applied to Lehigh University in November (Regular Admissions), I submitted my Common Application in sort of a hurry. Upon copying and pasting my essay from word, I didn’t notice the error I made. I submitted “They make become complacent,” instead of “They may become complacent,” in my Common Application essay. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? How do colleges typically react/respond to this sort of error? I asked a friend to read my essay, and she didn’t find the error the first, or second time she read through.

Thanks for the responses!

I also had a typo in my Common app essay; I accidentally said “if” instead of “it”. I freaked out about it for months while waiting to hear back. I don’t think it has that much of an effect. Any essay will have some form of typo or grammatical error. Don’t stress yourself out too much about it. I still got accepted ED2 to Lehigh and to many other schools even with my typo.
