“Stand by for heavy rolls while the ship comes about.” :D

Boston, when do you leave for school?

What’s Theo going to do before the trade deadline?

hey Spidermom! we don’t even move in until september 9th, and classes don’t start until september 18th. but i have ROTC indoc from august 20-27, so i get temp housing at harvard from the 27th til move-in day. went to the NEX yesterday and bought all my stuff for indoc (yay!).

hmm i don’t know what Theo’s planning, but i trust him, so i think whatever he does will be smart…at least i hope! lol.

has your son left for NMMI yet?

He leaves Wed. morning. How cool that you got all your indoc stuff! I, too, put my trust in Theo.

Sorry for the thread jack, but I knew y’all would want to know what Boston’s been up to.

Tried the Z-Turn today. Scared all the people in the grocery store parking lot. They all moved & I got a great spot right up front.

“Calm down. I’ve read that all males are born with an acute propensity for seasickness. It’s only after they begin telling lies that the seasickness stops.”

LOL LOL LOL

Already heard one really “large” sea story. Told the boy to keep them to himself. I just don’t need to know this stuff… ;)

GOOD LUCK to Spider & Boston!! These last few days will speed by so enjoy!

Seasickness does go away…

…right after you puke up everything back to the Ho-Ho’s you had at Billy’s birthday party in the 3rd grade.

Then you feel great.

Hey, Boston. Good to hear from you. And good luck turning Harvard into a military-friendly campus. Stop by cc once in a while and keep us posted on your experiences. If you find out who navgirl (rising sophomore at Harvard in NROTC) is, ask her to let us know how she’s doing, too.

Best of everything to you - you certainly don’t need luck!

Really? Seasickness goes away?

Zaphod, you did get seasick? I am surprised…, well I guess I expected only those with iron stomachs applied in the first place. Huh. I never would have considered the Naval Academy for the sole reason I always had terrible motion sickness. Well that plus I wasn’t much of a trailblazer.

My family is dying to take a cruise but I know I would be dying before we left port, just watching the water move makes me sick!

Oh, Z is correct, seasickness does go away. . . until it comes back again.

There is no sick like seasick! Combined with a hangover and pelting rain [as happened to me off the coast of Jamaica–why do bad guys have to use the ocean to enter the U.S?] and it is a recipe to have you swear off the ocean forever. As you are laid out on the deck trying to avoid the diesel fumes . . . well, it was tough to look cool.

All the time, I’m sorry to say. A fate worse than death, IMO.

Yep.

Thanks Spidermom, Jamzmom and Momoftwins! I’ll definitely keep checking in, and if any new kids need advice on ROTC or even Academy admissions for that matter, just send them towards my PM inbox!

Good luck, Boston! I’ll be thinking of you when we win the World Series. How 'bout that Ortiz tonight? Look forward to hearing about your ROTC experiences.
