x-acto knife & CB Book

Okay, I’ve got my xacto knife,(per xixxi’s posts)…
I can’t figure out WHY i’m cutting the book up.
What am I Looking to do…
Make File folders for the different things like “Sentence Completion”
or just cut out the tests?

I KNOW I must be missing something here.

Um… what?

The OP is obviously high on something.

lol this is amusing.

I think xiggi was speaking figuratively… lol.

I was not kidding about ripping the book apart. There IS some logic behind the madness. The idea is to create a nice stack of manila folders that contains the individual sections of each test. The purpose is to move away from one heavy book to small piles of workable tasks. Divide to conquer comes to mind.

The manila folders are also useful to jot down notes and mark the results of each section for future references. And, fwiw, it is easier to drop one or more folders in your backpack than to carry that BB everywhere. The idea here is to use 20-30 minutes when possible. Another benefit is to organize the various tests by sections that need more work.

There is nothing magical about keeping that BB untouched! :)

^ All that time spent taking it apart and organizing it could have been spent on actually doing one of the practice SAT tests and reviewing it. And all for “convenience.”

That is by far one of the most ridiculous suggestions I have heard.

Save your money. I mean seriously…an X-acto knife? Manila folders? Studying for the SAT doesn’t have to be some tedious bookkeeping process.

/smile …

Uhm. Perhaps manila folders might be going overboard (but still a great idea), but I definitely second Xiggi’s idea on using a knife to rip your book.

I mean does anyone actually use/read/need that “how to take the SAT” section before the actual practice exams? Honestly there are better books to teach you the skill set you need compared to the official guide from Collegeboard. So I say hell with it! Just rip out the section that include your practice exams and if you really want to make it feel “official” then rip out the tests individually so it’s like a real test booklet.
Oh and doing this only takes you about 5-10mins and you don’t even need a knife (maybe because I have crazy asian origami skills o.O).

However OP, if you want to cut out different sections of CR, WR, and Math for practice, that’s definitely not a bad idea. Also, seeing that Xiggi has his own stickied thread up top with countless replies, I think his suggestion has been proven to work for many xP

OP.
You sir, deserve my wholehearted admiration.
