<p>Compared to national normal chess competitions, it’s a bit easier because more people compete in regular chess than chinese chess due to the recognition and prizes usually being bigger. Nevertheless, this is a national competition and is still extremely difficult to make it into the national round without tons of experience and a brilliant mind.</p>
<p>so if i played chinese chess for 8 years, would I have a good chance of placing?</p>
<p>i can’t answer that question. years of experience is not directly proportional to skill.</p>
