Xinhang Chinese Chess Tournament Website Down!!??

The website, www.xinhangchess.com, for the xinhang chinese chess tournament has just gone down for some system upgrades, but I want to see who won this year’s tournament. If anyone has the details, please let me know! Thanks

1st place - Trevon J. (the newspaper article was kind of cut off, so I couldn’t see his last name except the first letter.
2nd Place - Jackie Chu
3rd Place - Yuying Ho
4th Place - David Liu
5th Place - John Gasparini

thanks, do you know how difficult this competition is?

Compared to national normal chess competitions, it’s a bit easier because more people compete in regular chess than chinese chess due to the recognition and prizes usually being bigger. Nevertheless, this is a national competition and is still extremely difficult to make it into the national round without tons of experience and a brilliant mind.

so if i played chinese chess for 8 years, would I have a good chance of placing?

i can’t answer that question. years of experience is not directly proportional to skill.
