The geneticist has been commonly named, with Charpentier and Doudna, as the trio most likely to win a Nobel prize for CRISPR. Zhang’s team, in an early 2013 Science paper, modified the CRISPR–Cas9 system to make precise genome cuts in human and mouse cells.”
