YAHOO Mail malfunctioning

My primary yahoo accounts are having malfunctions that don’t allow us to upload or download attachments. The problem started last night and is pretty irritating, especially since our primary email for my home & business are both yahoo.

Called & spoke to a LIVE person who confirmed it is a problem on THEIR end and promised they are working to correct the problem ASAP.

A few weeks ago, I had a different Yahoo mail glitch. It was not letting me send emails! At least I can send emails again but without being able to load or view attachments, it’s less useful than it was. :(

For anyone who wants to talk to a LIVE Yahoo Mail person, this actually worked!

Always have one, two or three backups for stuff you keep on the cloud.

I use gmail as my main email; I also run a Thunderbird thick client which downloads my GMail to multiple PCs so I have my email on the cloud and locally. I can use Thunderbird to send email out using other email providers if GMail goes down.

Thanks–this is the 1st time I noticed this in the >10 years I’ve been using Yahoo mail. I find gmail confusing. can you provide more info about Thunderbird? I’ve never heard of it, but that’s not surprising. :)

It’s a thick client - a program that runs on your computer instead of a server somewhere else.

I was just wondering… I tried to attach two different files and its not working… perhaps later.

OK, do you buy it as a piece of software & install it on your own server?
Thanks, BCEagle, I have always wondered about these issues.

BCE what would that be different from Outlook or Outlook Express? And the mail client in Opera or Firefox? It must be a SMTP client, perhaps stores email in the cloud?

Thunderbird is Mozilla’s (who makes Firefox) email client. It works very much like Outlook, although with a better interface. It’s a free download: [Mozilla Thunderbird - Features](Thunderbird Features — Thunderbird)

Then if gmail is the ONLY your mail service and when it is out of service, the client software won’t help you either sending or receiving emails,

No, it won’t. But then that’s true of any mail service, which is why you should have more than one. I do the reverse of BCE: I use my ISP’s email, with Outlook, as my primary account, and also have my gmail account set to get those messages. If my primary account should go down I can use the gmail account to send and receive mail, and vice versa.

I have more than 20+ email addresses and several domains, each serves a purpose.

I do not give my ISP email addresses, since I change ISP often depends the cost of ISP, in our area, Comcast and ATT are the two main ones.

I give out email addresses from my own domain, because I have more control, and then I forward my emails to either web based email service or smtp based email service.
