Yale 2012 RD Official Results page

Is there a thread on CC with stats with last year’s RD results? Looks like many CC’ers got Accepted or Rejected in Early. Would really appreciate a link if there is such a thread available.

Thanks!!

I think this was asked about a month or two ago. While several links to last year’s results were posted, very few people listed their stats along with their decision. My suggestion would be to look at peer schools (HPS) as they are going to be very similar to Y.

thank you will look for them

As a parent who just attended Yale Move In and the Opening Ceremony, I can tell all of you what Yale is looking for!

They want SMART kids first of all. So, do well on your tests and get excellent grades! Then they want TALENTED kids. So be really really good at something and be PASSIONATE about it. Then they want DIVERSITY!!! They are interested in the kids that are German,1/4 Black,Suburban whatever! Combinations are good, DIVERSITY is what they want. Multi Racial, OTHER, it’s all good. Yale understands that America is a melting pot and they want students that reflect that. They want the rich kid, the international kid, the poor kid, the middle class and everyone in between. They have a vision of the world changing to be a place where we all accept each other for exactly who we are. They want to accept students who can show that they will be a part of this movement! Good luck, be yourself, be smart and hope that Yale finds you INTERESTING!

I was there, too, singer, and I agree with everything you just said.

I will add that every Yale kid I met, new freshmen and upperclassmen alike, was very friendly and socially adept. (Maybe the socially inept were kept in a closet.) My impression is that Yale is made up of enthusiastic, open people. Students were willing to scratch beneath the surface in conversations, and could carry their end with ease.

If I’m right about this perception, then the moral is, if you get a Yale interview, be aware that articulate, engaged interaction with adults may be a prerequisite.

Well of course you won’t meet and interact with the socially inept ones. ;)
