Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

I’m just going to barge into the website and open it up without thinking. Because if I think, then I’ll probably hover over the link to check decisions for a good fifteen minutes.

does anyone know when yale begins reviewing applications?
like when is the recommended date for submitting applications?

^ I assume you’re talking about RD? I don’t know about the exact date they begin reviewing applications, but it’s generally advised to submit the application one-two weeks before the deadline (December 31st for the RD round).

I don’t want a letter if I’m rejected…it’ll be like being rejected twice. :(

ok, thanks

I’m definitely waiting to hear from my two friends who are doing SCEA before I open my decision…

There is no way I’ll be able to wait. I’ll be on there, clicking refresh over and over again starting at about 4:55

I am DEFINITELY going to be turning the volume up and waiting to hear the singing bulldog. i dont wanna look.

sooo nervous!! But just keep in mind, a lot of people get rejected from yale, and then accepted to harvard, mit , stanford, etc… so hopefully by the time april roles around everything will work out

They filled half of the class of 2015 through ED (1190/2400), with 26% ED admit rate.

Alright, so let’s try to distract ourselves from this hyper-nervousness here. What are all you guys’ class songs, flowers, sayings, etc?

Our song is One Day by Matisyahu- I’m not crazy about it as our class song, but whatever. The one other high school in our county also has this. Flower is Orchid and our saying is some long, cheesy, blah quote by no one.

Hopefully Yale (like Penn) realizes that people who apply early are more dedicated to the school!

I mean they admit 700 something people so
The decision will affect my Christmas holiday though! We get out this friday

Maybe I’m just a clueless public school-er and everybody else has these… but we don’t have nothin’.

Lol, class songs? sayings? flowers?
What school to you go to?

Hmm… I think my class pretty much dubbed The Hangover as our favorite movie. I don’t know if that counts. :P

@lucyloves, Owlehn: haha, I go to a public school. You guys really don’t have these? They’re a pretty traditional thing. The senior class votes on which song and flower and saying they think best represents their class, mainly for graduation and all. It’s rather pointless.

we don’t have a song, flower, or saying… I’ve never heard of a school having something like that

My school has a class song, but I have no clue what it is.

My elementary school had a class song. It was catchy.

Chorus:
(“You can do it there’s nothing to it, your dreams will take you Far! Just keep on trying, and clap reach for the stars…”)

That was the last time my class had a song.

My elementary school song was “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World. Elementary school kids probably shouldn’t watch the video.
