Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

I’m so confused by the Penn Acceptance rate on CC. I mean it’s always better than the national average, and of course it’s a little skewed (accepted people more likely to post), but come on!

2/3 of applicants is ridiculous. Let’s keep the positive trend going in SCEA! (I’m thinking a little better than last year, say 25-30%?).

^But people are more likely to post if they were accepted than if they were rejected, especially if they’re not on here that much. And the 2/3 acceptance rate is based out of the people who have posted right? Not like out of a set number of pledges?

Even with voluntary response bias in mind, I find 2/3 to be quite amazing.

They must also send a letter. Not everyone wants to or is able to check online

Yeah it’s definitely impressive. I just don’t want to get my hopes up too high before Wednesday :)

I just want it to turn out better than the Columbia thread.

This year, let’s aim for 0%… deferrals and rejections!

My tally on Columbia is 36% accept, 25% defer, and 39% reject–not nearly as bad as the first 20 responses made it seem.

Oh well that’s pretty good overall. The first couple pages of results are quite depressing though

So overall, CC is doing better than last year!
Hopefully this is a good sign for us all. fingers crossed

Much more comforting number.

Columbia forum on Thursday morning: “The Yale thread got slaughtered! What n00bs.”

I wish we could find out through a letter in one of those big envelopes than an online account…

^
I think the singing bulldog makes up for the online account, though.
But yeah, a letter would be cool upfront.

do we get a singing bulldog if we get rejected…bc that would just be annoying.

and for the record - 3 guys in my school have likely letters for athletic recruitment. im the only one in for academics…■■■.

Not a singing bulldog. A laughing bulldog…a smug, laughing bulldog that feeds on misery

^The bulldog then turns around and takes a s*** on camera (with sound-effects).

Yes, I do too, a little bit. My mom was telling me that on the day decisions came out everyone went to the nearest pay phones during lunch (they had off-campus lunch) and called their parents… My mom asked her mom whether the envelope for her first choice school was big or small. Her mom answered that it was big. My mom said, “Open it.” And she got in! :)

What a nice thing.
Like you sort of know before… but not entirely. You can prepare yourself before reading the definitive decision.

Anyone else considering clicking the link and closing their eyes and waiting to see if they hear anything???

^ I think I’ll do that, quomodo, but I’ll triple-check to make sure my laptop’s volume is turned up beforehand ;]
