Yale Admits 10.9% of Early Applicants to Class of 2030

Yale College on Wednesday admitted 779 students — or 10.9 percent of applicants — to the class of 2030 in its early action program.

Among the 7,140 students who applied in the early action program, 18 percent were deferred for reconsideration in the spring, 70 percent were denied admission and 1 percent withdrew their applications or submitted incomplete materials, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions announced in a press release Wednesday.

This year’s early action cycle included a record number of students admitted to Yale through the QuestBridge National College Match program. On Dec. 1, Yale admitted 118 students through QuestBridge — 52 more students than last year.
