Yale-bound student wins $25K scholarship

A young Bellmore scientist, Adam Solomon, 17, has added another prestigious award to the many he has received for his work in astrophysics over the past year. The recent Kennedy High School graduate received a $25,000 scholarship from the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, a Nevada-based foundation whose mission is to recognize and support America’s most gifted and talented young people.
“The Davidson fellows are success stories because they’ve nurtured their genius by seeking out mentors, relying on strong family support and working diligently to achieve their goals,” said Bob Davidson, the institute’s co-founder.
As many community members will recall, the award comes on the heels of Solomon’s earning many others. He is a 2005-06 Siemens Competition national finalist, for which he received $40,000. In March he was awarded a $20,000 Intel Science Talent Search scholarship…

Congrats Guitar

A good choice for him, he is going to what is probably the best undergraduate astrophysics program in the country.

i would rather have statistics then hear it from posterX lol

Look at the amount of research and number of professors in that department versus the number of undergraduate majors, plus the track record of alumni placements into top graduate programs. Caltech is probably the only other possible contender.
