Yale chances

Honestly speaking I don’t feel I would get in but I just recently read these

What type of students do Ivy League schools want to admit, and why?

Let’s cut to the chase. Schools are looking for two things when admitting students:

Students who are going to accomplish world-changing things.
Students who are going to contribute positively to the community while in college, to help each other accomplish great things afterward.

It was not a short article and basically wanted to convey message of what University looks for. They will see what student is involved in how they would help in increasing their university reputation.

My SAT’s score are around 1900 in first attempt. I am not good in any academic things. But I am very exceptional in information and security I have developed many skills involving MITM attack,Cross site scripting and I learned it my self. Do I have any chance of getting into Ivy League. I didn’t focus much on studies as I was interested much more in computer I even have my own security company.

What do you mean your own company? Do you have employees?

In addition academics are extremely important and with a low sat score like that, possibly a low gpa in addition to mediocre extracurriculars I’d say extremely low.

You forget THE MOST important attribute college’s are looking for: brilliant scholars. That should have been #1 on your list.

You didn’t post your GPA, but your 1900 SAT places you far below Yale’s 75th percentile scores. Your SAT is so low, Admissions is going to wonder if you can actually do the work on their campus. That’s true no matter how wonderful your EC’s or what company you started.

Look at it another way: Recruited athletes in the ivy league are thought by many to have lower GPA’s and test scores than non-athletes. Yale is not as forthcoming as Harvard, but when you look at Harvard’s athletic recruiting website, it’s spelled out very clearly: http://gocrimson.com/sports/mgolf/faq#Recruiting

If that’s what Harvard is looking for from a recruited athlete, you be assured the standards are NOT going to be lower for a non-athlete. Given that HY are peer institutions, I would think Yale’s standards are the same.
