I spearheaded a relief effort for tsunami victims two years ago and raised over 1,200 dollars in clothes, medical supplies, and monetary donations.
9 APs projected by graduation.
By the way, my GPA is low, but… 8th grade Algebra (High School Credit), I got a C in one quarter. I had eight teachers for that class, no lie, no exaggeration. It was hard learning the different styles of teaching for each person. I ended with a solid B average.
I then went to high school and got a C in Geometry first quarter. This was because of deficiencies in the stuff that my eight eighth grade math teachers taught.
I had one more C, but I can’t say anything about it. I missed a B by one point in History.

Are you taking Calc AB or BC?

well. since yale is the only one out of HYP that still HAS early action…id suggest going early at yale. unless you wanna go early at stanford (i think they still have early?)

what to do better-dont get B’s? develop “passions” in ur extra curriculars. pick one or two to reallly focus on. show leadership.

i wish when i was a sophomore someone told me to develop my ECs. thats my main weakness…oh well.

I’m not sure… I know it’s full year, we take Pre-Calc then go straight to AP Calc, whichever it is. I want to say BC but I honestly don’t know.

Also, add this to my list: I was selected and I am in a Leadership “O” Program. It basically takes the top 1% of people in our school for leadership, and then gets us to do more leadership stuff.

<what to=“” do=“” better-dont=“” get=“” b’s?=“”></what>

Will one B in an honors or AP class really hurt thata much?

will one B hurt your chances?
of course not!
Now, a transcript with tons of B’s could work against your favor. Not everyone who gets into Yale gets straight A’s throughout high school.

Will Yale deny you admission solely because you had one B in the tough class, probably not, as long at it was honors. Even a couple probably won’t hurt you. Try to get all A’s, but if you simply cannot do it, don’t stress yourself out over it.

I found out it is Calc BC and we are trying to get AB into our curriculum.

maybe that came out the wrong way. i didnt mean that having B’s will ruin ur chances…but just that trying to get all As is a good plan. transcipt is one of the most important things

You have a moderate chance of getting in, seeing how you project your academic progress.

Don’t take this the wrong way, you seem like a great student, but…you are reaching a little bit for Yale. Just a warning.

okay… thanks!

is there any other advice?

anyone ?
