@mwesigwa Why? :)

@Eljui7 She’s a nice person, but she’s not an admissions counselor. I know you want to get in but nobody other than Yale’s admissions officers can tell you if you’re to be accepted. To be honest, they get so many applicants they’re dying to accept but have to turn away because of space that even that’s not a sure bet.

We’re all nervous-it’s understandable! However, you should probably tone down the chancing requests because chancing is a futile activity.

@Eljui7 and others who want to be chanced, maybe it’s time to trot this out. It’s for MIT, but it applies equally well to Yale. eljui7, please take the time to read at least the first post.

I’ll be in school when decisions come out on the 16th, and I’m planning on bringing a box of chocolates–either for celebration or comfort! I know I won’t be able to wait it out.

Do you think the admissions officers check with everyone’s guidance counselor’s for the applicants current grades before he or she is accepted?

@chocolatepanacea This foolish student agrees with you :)

@IxnayBob Thank you
I know it’s not accurate, but I do it because it’s some sort of fun :)

@kqguo10 great idea, i might do the same.
i feel like this thread is my personal support group right now

@AnnaLuxe you chose some good username, gives some ambivalent sense :)

I just want the decision so I can return to my normal life. I’m not even afraid of getting deferred/denied at this point. I just want to know.

Same @prep15 I am literally stressing so much right now. Especially with all my friends beginning to hear back from schools I just want to know already!!

@Prep15 I hear ya, I can’t even function right now

I visited the Harvard SCEA thread to wish them luck and they’re having a convo about throwing up from the anxiety! At least we’re not at that point yet. I totally understand the nerves though. When my SAT scores were about to come in, I couldn’t sleep the whole night. I can’t imagine what will happen Monday night and Tuesday morning.

@premedbound15 For a school like Yale, they are not likely to hinge their SCEA decision on in-process seventh semester grades – you would have already needed to prove yourself. So, no they do not usually ask for mid-semester grades. However, your offer could be rescinded, if you don’t live up to their expectations.

when do you think the soonest admissions will be sent out? i have already heard of some rejection

who else applied/heard back from Yale-NUS? I’m curious what results people are having…

@tssf36 Well, I just found out I got rejected. Not like I was seriously considering going to Singapore anyways. How’d it turn out for you?

@deweystront I was deferred. I don’t think I would go to college in Singapore, but it seems like a cool opportunity. I’m wondering what type of correlation there’ll be between NUS and main campus results…

@tssf36 Where are you applying from?

Have you guys ever watched the “That’s Why I Chose Yale” video on YouTube? I’ve been watching that to keep my nerves in check.
