NERVOUS AS ALL HEELLLL. I’m 99% sure that I’ll be deferred and possibly rejected but there’s that inextinguishable spark of hope in me that I can’t manage to squash… How are you guys dealing with the wait and also the reality that you probably won’t be admitted?

@chocolatepanacea Same feeling in me. I am reading tons of thing on wikipedia, reading some history discussions, watching some interviews. I want to get admitted, but I realise the truth and my “unlucky” experiences and many fails prepared me for something.

@Eljui7 Yes, I do think that thought processes can influence the decisions. I have no proof of course but it’s just my little theory :)

@ronandearth So if you believe in it, what and how you are going to think? ![]()
Please guys chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1615900-harvard-yale-princeton-and-duke-chances-thank-you-will-chance-you-too.html#latest

just don’t stress out, people. it’s tough but trust me it’s all in your head. i’m more than ready to get rejected/deferred.

hitting the gym is definitely a great way to get that anticipation poured into a worthwhile pursuit. hit 225x10 bench on monday

hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

@billymay Excellent advice, of course. Whether or not I can follow it is completely different, though haha! After all, it takes a little bit of irrationality to apply to Yale in the first place.

@Eljui7 I had a 34 on my ACT. I saw your stats on the page you shared. While SAT scores are a factor Yale considers your story and why you do the stuff that you do (at least thats what the guy interviewing me told me) and I think that if your SAT scores are something Yale can look past youve got as good a shot as anyone.

@AnnaLuxe I know how you feel. I finished all seven seasons in 3 weeks.

@chocolatepanacea - That should be a quote.

“After all, it takes a little bit of irrationality to apply to the Ivy league.” - chocolate

So beautiful. :’)

@Eljui7 I’ve been thinking optimistically for the most part. I know that not everyone is going to get in and that if I don’t then it wasn’t meant for me. I’ve considered how I would react in both situations: (1) me being rejected and a little saddened, and (2) me being accepted and having the best day of my life
You just have to hope for the best

@Dannnn Thank you, kind sir
Also, if anyone couldn’t guess from my username, I am filling the emotional void of uncertainty with chocolate for the next week!

Wait so just to make sure, on the 16th, we have to go to ELI to see our admissions decisions right? Yale won’t send out an email?

@chocolatepanacea just watch out for dat dere acne!

@thenarwhalking from my experience, you will not receive an email, or at least not immediately. The decisions will be released on Dec. 16th at 5pm IIRC

Hey all. I’m so nervous right now. Anyone else here from Connecticut? Also, how can I check with the admissions office to see if my supplemental recs are in?

Yale does not send out an e-mail. You have to go to your Eli account and click the link at the appointed hour. Harvard does it via e-mail. A couple of days later you will get the traditional letter in the mail - the acceptance letter is suitable for framing.

HeLL. LIFE AND FORTUNE LET ME GET IN!!!

I have been going to it SO MUCH!!! I need to GET IN!!!

Any of y’all applying from Texas?

I’m applying from Colorado. I’ve been to Texas once in my life, and I couldn’t stand it
Too humid, too hot, and FAR too many guns, haha

I MUST GET IN!

@Eljui7 I’m sure you’ll get in.
