Yale Class of 2019 SCEA Discussion Thread

Post 1000 :D

You really think it could out early? When might they notify us it is coming out earlier?

Is it possible to graduate in three years without any APs if I get in?

@earthyhuman I care!! Good luck!! I hope you rock your practice and concert!

I was so excited :frowning: lol…

Well I know I won’t be getting any work done between now and tuesday so might as well do some xmas shopping ;)

Is it possible to graduate in three years without APs if I get in?

@earthlyhuman I thinkits awesome that you’re a diver! I’m not, but met a girl at drum major camp who was and she was one of the coolest people I ever met!

@hhiiiiiiii‌ track practice in december? I’m assuming it doesn’t snow where you live? Or are you talking indoor or conditioning? Sorry, just curious  I love running!

@ditherer‌ Im from New York so no snow yet but still pretty cold! And yupp, I do indoor and love running too!

I fractured my ankle last week while running though lol so I just go to practice either to do ab workouts or help the coaches run practice

@andros12 I do, but I may be overly optimistic. No idea when or if they might notify applicants that decisions will be released earlier. Decisions did come out earlier two years ago, and it looks like they came out a bit earlier last year, too, though maybe that’s just differences in time postings. I think last year they were supposed to be released after 5 p.m. Eastern time (on Monday, not Tuesday), but on the West Coast, the results started being announced after 9 a.m., according to the time stamps here—which would make it noon EST. Again, though, I have no idea what will actually happen—just thinking it might.

@hhiiiiiiii‌ omg I’m so sorry! That sucks! I hate ankles!!! Are you distance or sprints?

It’s been a little snowy here but not much… And we run in blizzards all winter long. The longer it holds off the better the roads are though!

I run xc so I’m comfortable with distance but my fav indoor event is the 600… And nice!! Running is the best remedy to anything. I could use a good run on Tuesday if I could lol

@ditherer We have practice every day outside, unless it is below 15 degrees. I live in Colorado, so I’m used to running in snow/hail.

But on decision day I’m thinking about going on a 10+ mile run before the decisions are released. I live right in between two counties: one is rural and one is very suburban. That day is definitely gonna be reserved for a run with the cows/horses in the countryside. It’s funny, because if I decided to run the other way I’d be running through neighborhoods and schools.

I’m not fast enough to be running in College with a team (my 5k times are only about 18 mins); however, I definitely run better the farther the distance. I can keep up a really nice 6:15-6:30 pace for 10+ miles, so I tend to prefer longer distances. So, I’ll probably be running marathons n’ stuff on my own when in college.

@paleselan‌ wow!! At my school we aren’t allowed to run outside if it’s below 34 degrees F … I’m sure there’ll be running clubs and stuff in college, but those times are still impressive! You may be able to walk-on somewhere

I have a friend who is running for Cornell next year and her best 5k is around 18 minutes

@hhiiiiiiii XD, that’s the thing. I’m a guy :P

@paleselan OOPS I’m sorry!!! Your name is pretty ambiguous (I think??) so I didn’t know!!

Being the female that I am I assumed you were one too lol idk why, but still, I’m sorry!

Yay for running still!

@hhiiiiiiii I’m not offended or anything, haha. I am who I am. I don’t really run to compete, it’s more of a lifestyle “I love running” thing. Some people are good at some things, other people are good at other things. Considering I was always kinda chubby growing up, I’m actually really, really happy with my running ability as it stands now. I could never imagine at 10 years old that I could run 15 miles straight without any issues, so the fact that I overcame a physical obstacle of mine is actually one of the things I really pride myself on.

I’m a guy everyone. Many people think I’m a girl (for some reason) but I’m a guy. Whew confusion be gone.

@paleselan that’s incredible… I’ve been running my whole life kind of just as a hobby too and my max is around 10 miles. I’m not particularly fast either, but it’s just such a great way to relax and clear your mind.

So I totally get the whole hobby thing.

As for the accomplishment part - that really is inspiring. Once my ankle heals I want to build up my mileage and eventually work my way up to a marathon.

Ugh you’re making me miss running

@emenya‌ lol I think it’s because your username ends with the letter a
