@Xboxgamergirl I also read @Snpdrgn’s previous posts and he corrected someone else who said the decision was released at 3PM. There were also a few others who also saw the welcome message. Yale also just shut down their portal. It’s hard not to read into this, but thanks for the encouragement and positivity you bring into this thread.
@Xboxgamergirl - You are the best omg
I think if future applicants are reading this, please make a pledge on your thread to not try to find out your decisions ahead of time and if you do, please keep it to yourselves. It would definitely save a lot of stress.
The https://apps.admissions.yale.edu/portal/admits URL hadn’t been published anywhere, but somebody here found it. For several days, people checked it and nobody was ever able to log-in. Today, 4 different people were able to log into it and have access to the “Welcome” page. As soon as the Admissions Office became aware people were accessing it, it was disabled.
Pretty hard not to see what’s happened.
I just wish Yale would go ahead and publish the decisions since they are obviously already made, rather than string it out for 2 more hours.
How did people even know to check the admit portal in the first place?
Edit: I guess baltimoreguy explained it
I too logged onto the portal earlier and received the “this is only for admitted students” message. Trying again just now lead me to the inactive error page. I think it’s pretty clear I was not accepted.
@Xboxgamergirl I hope you feel better disparaging others. I got the welcome message, but made no claim to legitimacy. All i wanted was confirmation from others. I hope you get in, and I hope I do too.Good luck to all at 5 today, and all I hope is taht I see the same rsults I saw 30 min ago.
@baltimore Think about it this way: only 4 people accepted on the whole thread? I highly doubt it. I think there’s a possibility that the Admission Office hasn’t finished uploading the decisions on the portal. Thus, some people that WILL get in couldn’t access that page. Anyways, there’s no use in thinking about it. We will all know in less than two hours.
Let’s top with this now, please.
@Ethiopian2016 , I want to go into statistics and computer science. I really wish to participate in a study abroad program. Not necessarily, the long term abroad programs, but more of the two weeks a month research programs. But whatever college I end up going to, I want to get my MBA afterwards, just for advancement. Then I want to go on and work for Microsoft/Apple/Google (preferably Microsoft) as a data scientist!!
How about You?
@an1620 I dunno, I wouldn’t say that’s unlikely. After all, we are only a very small sample of the applicant pool and having even four people get in is in my eyes, remarkable.
@baltimoreguy Not true. Questbridge applicants have had access to it since Dec. 1st, which I’m guessing is how people on this thread found it. The exact same situation happened two nights ago, when a few people claimed to have received their decisions; they weren’t new users, had double digit posts, and posted screenshots that were photoshopped. I think right now, there are 3 possible scenarios: 1) The people who claim they have access to it are goblins who want us to suffer and the decisions aren’t released yet, 2) Yale did release their decisions already and overlooked the fact that applicants would try to log onto it, or 3) Yale hasn’t finished uploading everyone’s decisions when people on this thread found out and started calling their office, causing them to shut it down.
I hope 3rd scenario is true…
In that case, the people who claimed to have seen the welcome page: are your last names near the beginning or the end of the alphabet?
@Kasami if you look at other threads, there are a lot of people that get in who post on CC
@Snpdrgn ,
I was not trying to insult/offend you in any way. I am just trying to say that no one here knows for sure. Even if I was in your place and made a post like that, I wouldn’t want people to be freaking out. And I certainly wouldn’t want people to be getting nervous over what I would have said- I am no expert. And I understand that it is something you saw, but the message is for others. Other people should not read into some others comments and take it as fact.
Hope that makes sense. And again, the message was not intended for insult, but to emphasize that we just have to be patient.
Good luck to you as well
@Xboxgamergirl As a feminist it makes me happy to hear when girls want to go into STEM
that’s awesome! I love politics specifically international relations. In between my bachelors and masters I want to do Peace Corps and eventually get my PhD and maybe become a professor. I’ve considered law but every lawyer I’ve talked to seems to hate their job so…
Someone mentioned our portals being locked so that they could update decisions. What happened to that?
@glasshours that’s the perfect question to ask! @Snpdrgn @aposnova could you tell us your initials/whether it’s at the beginning of the alphabet?
@Ethiopian2016 , Thank You! Politics is such a strong area of study, I love it!! Wish I could understand it a little better tho, lol.
You seem so passionate and organized! You go girl! Good luck! And I’m sure you will succeed no matter what!
As a deferred Penn ED applicant this year, good luck to you guys! I know you will all be ridiculously successful, regardless of whether or not it is at Yale!
