Yale Class of 2020 applicants

@MLGClubPenguin I want to study gobal affairs!

I want to do Molecular Biophysics and Biochem (:

Ooooo that’s awesome!! Do you have a class like that in your high school @aposnova ?

LOL @mindonmath123 how do you know?

@mindonmath123 don’t screw with us please…

@mindonmath123, how do u know??? And molecular bio here

@MLGClubPenguin probably a goblin. Seems like this is their first post on CC…it is astounding to me how some people are inconsiderate enough to go to any length to increase anxiety.

@ccstudent101 Yeah it’s really sad…

Lmfao not worth downloading tor for 30 min of wait, but I hadn’t thought of using it, nice work lol.

Ok, real panic is kicking in. I don’t want to check. Did anyone else saw a decision?

I have 2 good friends at Yale and one is doing Global Affairs and the other is doing Molecular Bio! They both LOVE it :smiley:

@MLGClubPenguin Nope, unfortunately not. But we studied elements of it in my Social Sciences class, and we also have an entirу museum devoted to ethnography and anthropology in my city, and I’ve always loved it.

I have plenty of friends who were deferred by Stanford only to be accepted by Princeton, and wait-listed by Yale then accepted by Harvard. I think it’s safe to say that there is a lot of variation in applicants, and most of you have it right! There are sooooo many different schools, and while we’ve all idealized Yale, that doesn’t mean we won’t be just as happy (if not more so) at the school that WANTS US to fill the distinct slot that’s perfectly suited for our individual talents and abilities. Feeling unwanted hurts, but it would feel MUCH worse to actually end up somewhere surrounded by a class that isn’t right–(you’re an engineer major surrounded by way too many engineer majors, for example, and internships and research positions become 100x harder to secure).

I think we’ll all find that, come the regular decision round, we have a lot of schools that we’d be thrilled to attend. We’ll all end up where we’re supposed to be (our desires + the desires of the school being in harmony with one another). It’s kind of like marriage…no matter where we end up, that’ll be the alma mater we refer to for the rest of our lives. Unrequited love sucks, but it’d suck worse to be trapped in a loveless marriage, you know? Nothing works when it’s one-sided. I know that all of you have great credentials, honest hearts, and high ambitions. We’ll all succeed no matter what! We’ll all find our true match and end up exactly where we’re meant to be. Remember that!

Checked, no decision for me. I can’t breath, I don’t remember being so nervous in my entire life (well…maybe not completely true)

Wait so how do we find out our decisions? Do they email us a link to the portal?? I kinda wanna know so I can find ou before the site crashes lmao

@an1620 I’m weirdly calm right now. After the admitted students link incident, I’ve come to terms with a deferral/rejection. I think checking the decision at 5PM will just be a formality for me.

I never knew I would want to see a bulldog so badly tbh…

Lmao I need that bulldog in my life right now!!!

I’m fairly certain that this is the most nervous I’ve ever been (also hello everyone! I’ve been reading this thread and finally decided to comment!)

@kuriosmind I’m still hoping. Plus, a deferral is not the same as a rejection. Though I would hate to have to wait, I’d rather have that than be out of the game
