Deferred… guess I would have to spend that sum of money on applying regular to other schools.
Accepted!!!
Rejected… how do you think this reflects on my RD apps? Is there any chance at all at this point…
Deferred. :-/ I kind of expected it. 56% of the early applicants get that decision.
what is the chance of getting accepted after being deferred?
Can you all tell me what time you received your emails and your decision
@efebrkn about the same as RD acceptance rates, maybe slightly higher (as in 0-1% higher)
Guess I’m definitely not in a lone boat with my deferral
Pretty low @efebrkn Don’t hinge on it.
@6alibah didn’t receive an email, but the portal was updated at 5:00 sharp
still no email…
Our letter says that the chance of getting accepted after being deferred is the same as the chance of getting accepted RD - 4.7% last year. If 56% of the early applicants got deferred, then that means 2610 applicants got deferred and 128 deferred applicants will ultimately get accepted. To the deferred applicants: I know we were all hoping for an acceptance, but the admissions office definitely thought that we were qualified to go there and wanted to know more from us. Let’s keep our hope up and apply to other amazing colleges! Who would like to make a Yale 2020 RD thread? To the rejected applicants: it doesn’t mean you aren’t qualified for or won’t get accepted to other great schools! Don’t lose hope and I’m hoping to hear good news from you all in March!
I actually ended up getting an email.
Any applicants care to post stats in the other thread? I thought I’d throw mine in just for the heck of it.
what can I do to improve my chance till April except from the mid-year report?
Could people start posting on the decisions thread? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1829684-yale-university-class-of-2020-scea-results.html
Congrats to all those accepted!
Yale weighs numbers too highly, and is the reason for my rejection
Does anyone know, if we’re deferred, can we add to or change anything on our applications?
good point, i’m wondering the same thing
@Henryboj33 I’d always thought of it the other way around. My scores can’t really get much higher but they’re looking for more than just scores. (Just read that statement and if it sounds pretentious/conceited in any way please know that is 100% not my intention)
