Just wanted to drop in and wish all the RD applicants the best of luck! I was accepted SCEA, and it would be great to see others here get the great news too!
I applied RD and I’m sooooo nervous. I have an interview tomorrow, along with 8 other kids in my school. Hope to see you in the class of 2020!!
Is it weird that I haven’t gotten an interview yet? I know someone from a nearby school who had one for sure.
Back from interview! Went great.
Just contacted about bizarre interview at HYP club in my city
Hi guys, do any of you know when Bulldog Days are this year? I’m from Ireland and got accepted to Yale last year, but postponed matriculation, so I can’t access the portal until 1st April
are the dates up yet?
@Jake045 Hi Jake, sorry if this is too late for you
I’m from NI and I did A-Levels. I got accepted last year and deferred, but yeah they’re very important to Yale, but they don’t ‘convert’ them to GPA or anything because they know what they’re worth. As long as you’re subjects are considered ‘academic’ (core arts and sciences) and that you’re doing as many as possible (the ‘highest curriculum available’ - I.e. Four A2’s) and are predicted good grades, I wouldn’t worry!
As for what they expect you to get if you get a place, as long as you get close enough (not too far off) to what you’re predicted you’ll be fine. I was predicted AAAA and ended up with AAAA and they were happy with that!
Hope this helped, let me know if you have any other questions.
got an email to interview two days ago. my interviewer asked for my grades and application. has this happened to any of you?
@zeppelins Nope.
Nope @zeppelins
Bulldog Days are April 25th-27th this year!
does anybody know when they start contacting people for YES weekend?
Expanding on @innercircle 's question: does Yale send out YES-W invitations to SCEA deferred applicants? Or do they only consider RD applicants?
Expanding on @zeedoq 's question: Does Yale send out YES-W invitations to international students as well?
Another question: how many of you havent been contacted for an interview yet?
@zeedoq i would doubt it
@anotherdude I remember reading in another forum that they don’t consider international students who do not currently reside in the US because the travel expenses are too great. If you’re an international student only by citizenship/status and you currently live in the US I’m not sure. I’m guessing that Yale would try to recruit any truly exceptional STEM students regardless of citizenship or status in th US.
@anotherdude You can see the amount of people contacted here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1849948-yale-interviews-2020-p1.html. I had one too weeks ago.
@anotherdude I haven’t been contacted for an interview, lol.
@XoXdreamerXoX me neither but i heard from another yale applicant that it took him a month. And the interview season is from Jan to Feb for regular decision but we arent promised an interview… Its a crap shoot
@Jahkid I’m not too worried. I just started getting contacted for interviews from my other schools. I think it’s because I’m in a suburb of a pretty large city, which I assume has lots of applicants.
