Yale Class of 2028 Official Thread

Of course the truth is all these colleges are academically excellent in a diverse range of fields, and almost all are large enough that you can make of your social experience what you want (I think Dartmouth can be a little bit of an exception, including because it is both small AND isolated).

I mean, even your stereotype about Brown being laid back is not at all universal. There are some kids at Brown who are just as intent on, say, grinding their way to highly-selective Wall Street firms as at any of these colleges (the terms of the grind are different, but they find a way). So you can find those people if you want at Brown, or not if you don’t.

It’s been many years since preppy was an apt description. I don’t think any one who walks through the campus would come out with that impression today.

As for eating clubs, they too reflect the change, even if some more than others, and the ones known for their diversity seem quite popular.

Both instutions are appealing to our student from the perspective of advancing her understanding of both physics/mathematics and philosophy.

Glad she landed at a great school, congrats. I remember your journey on the Yale threads.

Is anyone else’s FA part of their portal different now? All I see is CSS Profile, not IDOC or FAFSA?

I find your response super interesting as I have 1 Yale kid and 1 Penn CAS kid. The Penn kid would agree with you and the Yalie would not agree at all.

What does it mean?
There is no fafsa from first. But i have all documents in checklist. I think they pulled all we filled out and submitted in idoc requirements.

Are likely letters received via mail, email, or portal?

Is an interview request this late a good sign?

I don’t think the timing matters (keep in mind we are still like four weeks from Ivy Day), so as usual I think the pros and cons basically balance out to neutral.

Thank you, @BKSquared. You were (and still are) very helpful in answering a lot of questions. Appreciate it very much.

Fafsa forms will only be done processing mid march or so(due to the changes this year), so nobody has fafsa forms processed.

But idoc is in checklist. And some schools mark fafsa as missing or waiting but yale.

True, lots of colleges are trying to use the css profile this year. Too many chnages, will have to wait and see how it pans out.

Anyone know when Ivy day is this year?

According to Crimson education, it’s on March 28th this year - the last Thursday in March. It’s been that way since 2019, except 2021 where it was the first Tuesday in April. It was on a Wednesday in 2018.

Your response was ambiguous regarding the IDOC question, not FAFSA. Yale is generally known to obtain IDOC from all applicants. However, given that the user cannot see it, it’s necessary to understand why. This would help the user grasp their situation and the financial aid process of the university better.

My advice is if you are using this as an admission indicator I do not think it tells you anything. If you are worried that the school does not have all of your documents then I would call the Fin aid office at Yale. They are very nice and helpful. This way you can have peace of mind that everything is in. Even if your documents are not in it will not affect your admission as the offices work separately. It can only delay your award letter.

Hello.
It isn’t my case. I replied to previous post.
So i told that we have idoc but if she only doesn’t have idoc on checklist, it isn’t common.
I don’t understand why you suggest i have to call ?
