My S24 was also rejected, but I also feel like this was a fantastic community to be a part of, not just for conversations about Yale but also really for insights that went way beyond. So thanks to you all!

FYI, so far the two Yale admits I know of from our HS (one SCEA, one deferred then accepted) are both ludicrously well-qualified AND legacies as well. So . . . not easy!

Yes, feederish private HS very prominent in our metro, but not one of the really famous ones nationally/internationally.

My child was deferred SCEA from Yale and was rejected today. Itās still a happy day for us because my child got into Harvard instead. Like often in life, it all came differently than we imagined.

My son did not get accepted, but he has been fortunate to be wooed by USC over the last few months and is really focused on that school, luckily. So I donāt think this bothers him or was unexpected. Itās a longshot! A longshot for everyone.
Good luck to everyoneās kids and I hope they all end up where they will be happy & flourish.
And now, for me, Iām just glad this process is over, and we can think about high school graduation and enjoy celebrating the past as we get excited about the future.

Congratulations! USC is a great school.
My son was accepted today after being originally deferred. We didnāt think his odds were good, but he got it anyway. We are still in shock. This is a pretty crazy process and I canāt tell you why he got in over anyone else. Everyone will end up at the place, thatās great for them. My S23 didnāt get into his top choices, but is pretty happy where he is now and it all worked out in the end.
