Hi I am a rising senior and I would really appreciate if someone could rank me and tell me if they think i would get accepted into Macaulay Honors College. At the moment my number one choice for my college would be Queens College. And please feel free to be completely honest and tell me if there is anything I can do to improve my chances of getting accepted. I know it is highly competitive but I have worked really hard throughout my high school years; My PSAT score estimated my SAT score to be a 1390 but I worked extremely hard to get it up to a 1930 so please feel free to give me any advice you think would be helpful. Also, do you think I have a good chance of getting accepted into Sophie Davis?
And I would like to go into Medical so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great as well.

@catsplease Welcome to CC! You probably didn’t know, but in the future, please start a new chance me thread of your own.
As for general admissions at Queens College goes, you’re pretty much in, as you meet the requirements of an 1150 CR+M SAT and 85 average (uw).
Regarding Macaulay:
For starters, your GPA is low for Macaulay. You need a 90 unweighted to even be considered, and the average UW-GPA at Macaulay is a 94.
For your SAT, Macaulay only counts your CR+M (out of 1600), so you’d have a 1300, which is average for Lehman, Staten Island and John Jay Macaulay campuses, but low for Queens Macaulay, for which most applicants have around a 1400 CR+M. Unfortunately, your GPA and SAT don’t make you a competitive applicant for Queens Macaulay.
ECs and essays play a pivotal role as well. Where did you do your research? What field was it on? Volunteer work looks good as well. However, you are lacking leadership in your ECs, such as being president of a club, captain of a team or editor of a publication. Regarding awards, colleges don’t care too much about elementary school achievements for college admissions.
Overall, Queens is a safety school for you, whereas Macaulay would be a reach school.
