Yale Creative Writing or Interlochen?

I’m having trouble choosing between the two…and yes, I’m aware that the Interlochen priority deadline passed in February, but I didn’t know if I’d be able to do a summer program until recently.

they are 2 completely different things. one is an educational writing program, that other is a sleepaway theatre arts camp.

Depends on your age and interests.

Interlochen is not just a theatre arts camp. Students go there for instrumental music, choral, visual arts, dance and writing. My D attended for two summers - and took several creative writing classes. She absolutely loved it!!! To this day she says it was one of the best experiences she has ever had. She loved being in the presence of all the creative energy that permeated throughout the camp. She would have gone every summer if cost had not been a factor.

RoselawnMom, just for the record, music, choral, visual arts and dance are ALL classified as theatre arts.

actually theatre arts at interlochen is just referring to musical theatre programs, acting, technical, and costuming.

music encompasses voice, choir, and all the instruments
then visual arts is a separate department.
dance is a different department.
motion picture arts department.
and the creative writing department is a completely different department.

they all have completely different faculty, money, curriculum, etc., they’re all different entities. :)
