sorry, more like 73 or so. you get my point.

yea, as long as decisions come out before my finals. I can’t imagine trying to focus on studying and thinking about this.

iam applyingearly ahhhhhhhhh!!!

I dont know if this was the case for you guys, but I’ve been on this site for about a year so I went through the whole drama of the early process last year by living vicariously through the penn and yale early groups. Its just so weird for me to fathom now that I’m going to be going through it too, and in less than two and a half months I’ll know whether or not I’ve gotten into Yale (or if I’ve been deferred, which is torture). Its. just. so. weird.
I say some serious bonding is in order. :)

Totally not the case with me And i don’t see anything weird. I’m a senior, so i’m applying. I may get in, or i may not get in (the latter being more likely). That’s how the story always goes.

yeah i see the weirdness of it. this entire year is a really weird place to be- to paraphrase the incomparable britney spears, we’re not yet in college, but bursting at the high school seams. i just wish this was over!

I do hope “the incomparable britney spears” part was sarcasm…

hahaha, how could anything concerning britney spears NOT be sarcasm. although, unlike nicolas cage, she had the courtesy not to name her kid after superman’s birth name, kal-el. i mean really, apple, inspektor pilot, romeo…these kids are going to be scarred for life

Yea, i’m deeply sorry for Apple, too.

did anyone submit their app?

No way, I’m done with both essays but my GC needs to read them. Plus the college office needs to approve my list, which they haven’t done yet (though they almost always approve). Plus, there’s no benefit to sending it in earlier, I don’t want anything about this to be rushed. :)

mines in at the guidance office too and will probably go out this friday…

***? calling my app rushed. how dare you! :p

i gotta submit it but im scared about not having a status page.

What’s a status page???

a page that shows u what has been submitted.

filmxoxo, i know exactly how u feel too. Actually, it’s much worse for me, cuz i’ve lived vicariously through the yale EA group for 2 years! haha, it does feel kinda different going through the process this year.

first off, when chris martin named his daughter after a piece of fruit, i lost a lot of respect for him. in fact, if he werent so good looking and i werent so damn emo sometimes, i might not have gotten x&y. lucky for him.

secondly, i just started looking at cc this summer (haha just…) but after seeing the early…um…massacre i guess…it freaks me out tons…
this community here is awesome cuz i think im starting to annoy my friends with this college panic but you guys dont mind. yay neuroses!

sry bout all the …
and thirdly, (im so formal), i have a bit of an awkward question for you. as much as i love yale, im starting to have some second thoughts and ive begun wondering why exactly it is i chose yale over harvard. im guessing that all of you here made some sort of conscious desicion to apply to yale over harvard and maybe you could share some with me? ahhhh i think its just cuz im a very indecisive person and i never make a desicion without having a million second thoughts but yeah. reassurance is always nice.

good luck all!!
woah…long comment.

oh yeah my friends HATE when i bring up college, haha, because it freaks them out even more. it is nice to be in this…support group…eerily like AA or something, isn’t it?

why yale? the residential college system was probably the biggest reason. also, harvard, in my opinion puts more of an emphasis on the grad schools. read the article by adam arenson, no intellectuals need apply, in the harvard crimson for another reason. also, the superlative history department and harold bloom. i like their student publications. more than anything, yale just felt like the right place for me. i can see myself at other schools, but not with the same intensity with which i can see myself at yale.

plus, its ea, so you can always apply to harvard regular and make your decision in april.

I’ve been in love with Yale since sophomore year and have had doubts several times as to whether it’s actually the right school for me. So here’s what I do:
I go to the Yale website and the websites of my other top schools. I look around, see what new research is being done, read bios of the professors, browse through student comments, etc. Sometimes I’ll email students asking for opinions on things (I have a couple on my buddy list for AIM). Every time I hear something new about Yale, I love it even more. Whereas, with other schools, sometimes I’ll be like “well…that’s…um…not incredible…”
So I’m convinced it’s the school for me!

thanks a lot. i have a lot of thinking to do but im almost positive that im eaing yale.

i have my interview on wednesday! ah!
