yale EA ppl

yea the earlier the better, cuz if i get deferred, i’m gonna be inundated with 7 other college apps and essays.

how many deferred kids end up getting accepted?

Don’t know, though I think somewhere someone said it’s a higher rate than some of the other Ivy League schools.

I linked to this somewhere else, but here’s last year’s CC thread about students who were deferred/rejected. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=47016&page=1&pp=20</a> It was good to see that the ones who didn’t end up getting in still went to really great schools.

theoneo… youve had 46 posts since noon. good god man!

Haha. Most of those posts were on either the RSI thread or the SAT Math Level 2 test (which I took today) threads.

There are six kids in my school (that I know of) applying early to yale.

how frustrating is that?

there are 13 in my grade. i win.

I’m the only person applying to Yale at my school. At all.

There’s one boy applying ED to Dartmouth (where I’m applying RD) and then one girl hoping to go to Cornell. I suppose there could be other people applying to Cornell that I just haven’t heard about (that’s the only Ivy anyone from my school has gone to in years), but probably not.

It’s probably a good thing in some ways, but it also tells you about the competitiveness and college-preparation of my school. Many of my good friends who are very smart don’t seem to think about applying to top tier schools.

Same number at my school filmxoxo17. Gotta love new york.

13? Holy ****.

Thats insane.

oh you guys are in nyc so id assume a magnet school or a good private school?

4 people at mine

2 early; maybe 5 or 6 in total.

3 people (including me) at mine

yeah bobbobbob private school. nyc… lots and lots of kids applying to ivys. lots and lots and lots.
i was looking at the yale face book and i think the biggest region represented was new york. and then like california or something. but yeah. i want to get away from this damn cosmopolitan bubble!

no i dont… :)

im taking you all out to the ale house and all the beers are on me.

I’m the only one applying to Yale at mine. One other boy wants Georgetown, and a girl is hoping for Columbia. Sighs At least I don’t have to worry about the fabled “inter-school competition.”

no beer for me. there are like a million gazillion jillion calories. plus it tastes dreadful.
give me a double scotch with ice. ;)

Yea I feel you.

The only place worse than nyc…long island.

haha.

ok then we can smoke pot and watch gilligan’s island.
