Just got the email from my interviewer!
Yep, same here! Who is your interviewer if you don’t mind me asking? Also just received an email for a EWSP student forum over zoom. Lmk if anybody else received and which day they choose and maybe we can join the same call?
Thank you to the person who started this thread! Reading through the replies has me feeling inspired. I think each and every one of you is amazing for applying. To those who’ve been rejected - I know that you are being redirected to another incredible opportunity. You are sure to do great things, wherever life takes you!
Is there anyone else who has applied to the EWSP, and has neither received a rejection nor a virtual interview invitation?
I would definitely contact them, that is very strange if you haven’t received an interview or rejection because everyone who made it to the final round of interviews are interviewing this upcoming week.
Anyone have their interviews today? Good luck to all!!
How does everyone feel their interviews went?
Interview was yesterday @ 9:30am! My AO was as nice as could be and our conversation went well beyond the expected time. Here’s hoping everybody else had a similar experience and congrats again to everybody here!
Nice! Who did you end up having as your interview and how did they guide the conversation? I know some others on Reddit said theirs were mostly just answering questions about what they wrote in their essays
Has everyone had their interviews yet? My interviewer said that the admissions committee will meet over the next 2 weeks or so and May 21 is the decision date
Had my interview last week and attended a current-EWP-student Q&A panel
Same! How did your interview go? I spoke with a current Eli Whitney student who said she felt like her interview was more of a personality temperate check, so I’m really hoping that’s how they view it. I figure that the 60 or so people who got selected for interviews are already qualified to attend and the hopefully the interviews are just checking for fit/personality
How’s everyone doing? I read that some people get reached out to by financial aid office for additional documents, anyone ion this boat?
The CSS profile should cover most of the financial side of things. Maybe after acceptance, I believe because of the school being need blind?
I definitely do feel like it was a personality check. Interviewer asked specific questions about my application prompts, but was more conversational vs interrogative. Did you send a follow-up/thank you email?
My interviewer also asked very specific questions. I was a bit surprised by the specificity/directness. I was definitely nervous but it was very conversational. I wonder how they’re narrowing candidates down based on the interview if it’s just a ‘personality check’ assuming most people will do decently.
I sent a thank you email but she never responded lol
I think it’s about personality but mostly just checking for fit in general. Someone could do well in the interview but if they weren’t hyper specific about why Yale is best for them versus another school or if they didn’t demonstrate how they’d positively impact campus, maybe they won’t get chosen?
I didn’t get asked any questions about why yale, etc. in fact my questions were so specific that there was no way to even show my interest in yale or eli whitney.
Interesting. I got asked specific things I touched upon in my essays, why Yale, and general questions about myself.
When did you send the thank you email? My AO responded 8-9 days later mid last week when they were making decisions. Also a day later the financial aid team reached out looking for additional documents - hoping this was a good sign…
