I have a question concerning Yale’s mandatory “Second Essay” that more or less says to tell something about yourself that isn’t seen elsewhere on the application. Isn’t this what the regular Common App essay is? Since a good number of schools only have one main essay (other than “why do you want to come here,” etc.), I would assume you write your personal essay that demonstrates you on a non-academic level there so that all schools can see that. Where would this leave me with the second Yale essay?
