Starting this thread for all waitlisted candidates for 2023 class. HOpe we can more clarity with discussion here.
Intl applicant here. Got waitlisted and Im wondering what kind of new documents or info can boost my chances of getting off of the waitlist and what the rate of admission from the waitlist is.
Very much the same query. But I guess it’s a hopeless situation. Don’t think waitlist guys really make it as the college already selects more than twice the capacity .
How do you know that? I don’t think they would do such a thing knowing that they will have to pay for trips from all over the world to singapore for DOUBLE the amount of students the college can even handle in the first place. Seems absurd to me.
Their capacity is 250. Normal acceptance ratio is 50% for any college . They had selected 500 odd last year. So year too too they would the same. The odds for waitlisted kids are nil. I have no holes

Wow they must have a lot of money to play with if they can just generously offer a trip to singapore to 250 people for checking a box, writing an essay and chatting with someone for 30mins. Apart from branding I don’t see what’s in it for the school.
I personally was very keen. Hurts being waitlisted . I know it won’t happen
Just stop being pessimistic, I have my heart set on the school too but as long as there isn’t a rejection letter in my portal I have hope.
But they by June end and we need to firm US colleges by May 1.

I would ditch everything else for a place at Yale-NUS. A friend on Discord said that they take about 5 from the waitlist every year.
And it’s a waitlist of 100 people . Discord ?
A platform where there are “servers” about different topics and there are rooms for discussion and stuff. Check out Elliot Choy’s youtube video descriptions for a link to his server about college and such.
What other offers do u have in hand
3 colleges in the caliber of Grinnell , and a waitlist for a postgraduate year at Berkshire School. If I don’t go to Berkshire or Yale-NUS I will take a gap year and re-apply next year. you?
I have Berkeley, Imperial, university of Washington-seattle, UIUC, hkust, hku, a couple of other university of California but but give my left arm to go to Yale-NUS
In my case I was arrogant and didn’t apply to many schools that I considered “unfit” for me so I only applied to 3 safeties that I don’t even wanna go to. Your Berkeley option is tempting tho!! Are you an international?
Yup. I am from India. Berkley is default choice if Yale Nus doesn’t happen. I have already given up. Hoping against odds that they would let me know by May 1, second round . But June 30 deadline killing
How good is the financial aid tho?
Yale-Nus is generous. Nothing at Berkley. Where are u based
