Like some other 100 candidates, I was one of the unlucky or maybe lucky ones that got waitlisted at Yale-NUS. Have any of you, who are also waitlisted, heard anything about how many of the 120 waitlisted accepted to stay on the waitlist? And when we will be hearing back? The third round people hear back on or before May 15 - so is this when our decisions come out also? Or after the third round decisions (which would diminish our chances considerably since there would be less spots available)… And also have any of you send anything extra for consideration?
Personally, I’m getting super nervous as days go by in May without any contact from the Yale-NUS people…

appliepie95 don’t fret over the waitlist bro/sis. I too am one of the lucky (in the sense that I liked Yale-NUS) and Unlucky (in the sense of having to face anxiety and wait)…

They said something like conveying all the decisions by the start of May, which I am assuming is within a week from today. I am crossing my fingers and refreshing my email.

Same here! I keep checking my email every 30 minutes, even at like 2 at night…it’s terrible that they don’t let us know of a firm date - increases the anxiety by tenfold especially when you have exams!!! Did you send in anything extra for consideration?

yep… one extra recommendation from one of my significant volunteer works (which I couldn’t send with the application due to time frame problem)… However, I haven’t got the confirmation of any sort of that recommendation… I was told that I could send in one extra document…

I so want to go Yale-NUS coz of their unique curriculum and all… I am from Asia and this place would be good for me, IMO

Yeah, I send in a letter of recommendation too. I live in Malaysia so Yale NUS would be perfect for me too (in terms of location and curriculum). I am so tempted to email the admissions people when they are going to let us know and how many people stayed on the waitlist - but I fear they will think I am too nagging… :(

Daughter waitlisted and she just called admissions. They said will be contacting everyone in approx. 2 weeks! Long wait for you all - hope you have other great choices.

Wow!! 2 weeks!! OMG!! I am going to cripple in anxiety and impatience probably by then…

Hope thats the official line nad they release earlier! If they are going to do another experience Yale-NUS weekend: it is cutting it a little fine.

yep coz the next formal Yale-NUS weekend is on 18th. If they release decisions as per what northernlass said, they would either have to organize another for those waitlisted folks or they would simply deny them an experience weekend.

I doubt if any spot was created yet though. Choosing 1 or 2 admit from 100+ waitlistees isn’t an easy task at all…

I think they will have spaces for a minimum of 10 waitlisted students though…I mean in this forum itself I have come across a few people who are declining their offers. I just hope they release our decisions with or before the third round, because if we are considered after the third round then our chances are close to 0%…
And anyways who knows how many accepted to stay on the waitlist?

Hey as far as I know the decisions for round 3 have been released. I got my decision on Wednesday!

Hang in there guys! There’s still hope because there are still people who choose to turn the offer down!

orangeholic94, I envy you after seeing that you updated yourself as ‘YNC’ 17’… Yeah the IIIrd round decisions are out… got to know that…

I am hoping that enough spots open up so that I get in… (Fingers Crossed)

congrats orangeholic94
Where you offered a date for the experience Yale-NUS weekend?

orangeholic94, like JacobsWannaBe, I too envy you Do you have any idea as to how many people may end up declining their offers?

@JacobsWanneBe All the best!

@northernlass Thanks, and yes I was. It is as indicated on the website: May 18th-19th

@applepie95 Unfortunately I don’t have any numbers =( But there seems to be quite a few people who will be deferring their studies too (Singaporean guys who have to serve in the army) so that should open up more spots! All the best!

anyone heard from Yale-NUS?? Please break the silence if you have heard or know someone who got off the waitlist successfully

no word yet for dd

I had emailed them last week and they replied that the waitlist results will be out in a few weeks, and that they can’t be anymore specific than that…the confirmation date for third round was the 15th?? Then probably by next weekend we will know? Fingers crossed for all of us! :)

Did anyone notice any weird change in the “Yale-NUS waitlist reply form”? The supposed reply date is changed from “start of May” to “After June 1st” … and the no. of wait-listed candidates from 120 to 30…

So we won’t be getting decisions this month after all…

REJECTED… Going to US now
