Yale or Stanford???

Agreed with Greybeard.

OTOH, I do remember that the people who seemed to “get” law school the best, overall, were the economics majors. Reasonable_girl is on to something. But I hope they were economics majors because they were interested in economics, not because they really wanted to study history and classics but switched because of their professional school aspirations.

Im kinda hurt right now. When I told my spanish teacher that I was giving up Yale for Stanford she said that I was making a big mistake and that I was dropping a level in school. She said that I wont get the same reaction from people now when I tell them and also that I wont have as good a placement in graduate school and in getting a job. I dont think this is true but what do you guys think of her comments???

She is silly. Especially if you take a job after college out here in California. And the graduate school thing is pure balderdash. Sounds like she still thinks of CA as the land of fruit and nuts.

stanmaster - I agree with Alumother. I have a Stanford degree and have never found it to be considered “second rate” compared to any place. Of course, she is entitled to her opinion, but hers is an unusual one. btw, I have spent most of my life on the East Coast and don’t find Stanford to receive any less respect East vs. West.

her comments are just plain rediculous. There is a reason that the ‘S’ is on the acronym ‘HYPS’…

stanmaster22 - while your spanish teacher is probably a very nice person, she is wrong on this issue. Stanford is at the very least as good as Yale, and some may even say it’s better. But one thing is certain: you are not dropping a level in school.
