Yale Premed

I am leaning towards Yale for undergraduate studies. Does anyone know what I should expect that would be different there? Is grade inflation really the way it is made out to be? Is it a good idea to go to Yale if I plan on pursuing medicine? I have heard of grade forgiveness at other schools and want to hear if the same goes on for Yale - and to what extent. Also, does this grade forgiveness stem from the fact that the grade distribution is harsh at Yale (because students dont fit on the normal curve)?

It would be awesome if someone who goes there now could let me know how the science classes are etc.

Some help would be appreciated!

And bluedevilmike (and a couple others), you always come ready with the stats man.

What are your choices? Accepted at Yale vs accepted at what other schools?

Grade inflation at Yale is typical for the Ivies – I believe Sakky has the stats on this. A degree from Yale carries some weight if you should choose not to pursue medicine and the Yale degree will not hurt for med school.

well i was accepted to yale and decided to not send in my apps for gtown, penn, emory, GW. i have applied to yale, brown PLME and university of maryland.

if i get into PLME the decision will be tough but I will probably go to Brown. If UMD tosses a boatload of money at me, the decision will also be tough to go to UMD. If these two situations dont occur, then I will probably go to Yale.
