I was wondering why Yale requires SAT/ACT scores for transfer students? I don’t see a point as the SAT/ACT is a college admission test, and students who are interested in transferring to Yale are already college students. Isn’t the purpose of standardized tests to predict how well students will do in their first year of college? Yet, students are looking to transfer to Yale as sophomores/juniors.

Moreover, Yale is asking first year college students, who never took SAT/ACT to take it or their application will not be complete. From Yale’s website, “Scores from January (SAT) or February (ACT) should arrive to us in time.” Plus, they do not accept the ACT without writing, even though students might have already taken a freshman writing course in their first semester in college, before even applying to Yale as a transfer.
