Yale Science and Engineering Asssocation Award?

So I got this award at a science fair. Apparently it’s given out by this assocation called the Yale Science and Engineering Associatin (YSEA, not sure if it’s even directly affiliated with Yale). About 200 of these are given out each year, to kids around the country that have top science projects.

Has anyone heard of this award? Does it help at all for applying to Yale (since it technically is a Yale award)?

Yeah I received the same award for winning the 11th grade science award at the TRSEF science fair in Syracuse New York. I’m not sure what it actually means but all I know is that I should be getting a medal and certificate in the mail. i wonder if it would help you get into Yale?

If Yale actually gives it out, I’d say its definitely a nice award to have on your app.

My understanding is that the award is meant to put Yale on the radar of top science and engineering students. I believe that alumni give the award with no input from the university. On some level, it’s a sophisticated marketing tool, but certainly nice to have on your resume.
